Description

Juicy chicken thighs marinated and coated in a velvety lemon-sesame sauce for a flavorful dinner experience.


Ingrédients

ÉCHELLE
  • 4 to 6 chicken thighs
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • Cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 3 lemons
  • 1 tablespoon chopped ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch diluted in a bit of cold water
  • Cooked white rice
  • Sautéed vegetables
  • Chopped green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Préparation

  1. In a bowl, mix buttermilk, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add chicken thighs and marinate in the fridge for 6 to 12 hours.
  2. After marinating, remove excess buttermilk and coat chicken thighs in cornstarch.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat with cooking oil and cook chicken for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. In a pot, melt brown sugar in chicken broth over medium heat. Add lemon juice, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and cayenne. Simmer and stir in diluted cornstarch until thickened.
  5. Once chicken is done, drizzle with sauce and serve with rice and sautéed veg, topping with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For added crunch, feel free to toss in some extra veggies with the sautéd vegetables.
