A refreshing and surprising take on watermelon that features grilled slices drizzled with honey and a light caramel.

Ingrédients

ÉCHELLE
  • 1 thick slice of watermelon
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 pinch of salt (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves

Préparation

  1. Cut the watermelon into thick triangles and remove the seeds.
  2. Mix honey, lemon juice, and sugar (if using) in a small bowl, adding a pinch of salt.
  3. Preheat the barbecue to medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the watermelon pieces for 2-3 minutes per side until grill marks appear.
  5. Brush the watermelon pieces with the honey mixture during cooking, allowing it to caramelize slightly for about 1 minute.
  6. Serve on a plate, drizzling with additional honey and garnish with mint if desired.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the watermelon to prevent it from becoming mushy. Use fresh, firm watermelon for the best texture.
