Description
Delicious and easy-to-make giant pretzels with a golden crust and soft inside, perfect for snacks.
Ingrédients

- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 12 cups boiling water
- ⅔ cup baking soda
- Coarse salt, to taste
Préparation
- Combine yeast in warm water and stir until dissolved.
- In a mixing bowl, combine two-thirds of the flour, oil, brown sugar, and the yeast mixture, stir until dough forms.
- Knead the dough by hand until smooth and form into a ball.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- On a floured surface, divide the dough into approximately 8 equal portions, shape into ropes about ½ inch thick, and twist into pretzel shape.
- In boiling water, add baking soda, dip each pretzel for about 10 seconds on each side.
- Remove and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake in the oven for about 6 minutes.
- Serve warm with yellow mustard.
Notes
For a twist, try adding herbs or cheese. Can be made ahead and frozen.
