Description

A comforting and delicious stir-fry combining crisp cabbage, creamy potatoes, and crispy bacon.

Ingrédients

ÉCHELLE
  • 1 small green cabbage
  • 4 potatoes
  • 150 g bacon
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • A pinch of thyme or parsley (optional)

Préparation

  1. Prepare the vegetables: Remove damaged leaves from the cabbage and chop into pieces. Peel and cube the potatoes. Slice the onion and mince the garlic.
  2. Cook the potatoes: Heat a large skillet or sauté pan. Add some oil and sauté the potatoes over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes, until they start to brown. Set aside when done.
  3. Add the bacon: In the same pan, add the bacon and let it brown until crispy, allowing it to release its fat.
  4. Add onion and garlic: Stir in the onion and garlic. Sauté gently until everything is translucent.
  5. Add the cabbage: Incorporate the chopped cabbage and mix well, ensuring it is coated with the flavorful juices. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add a little water if it starts to stick.
  6. Finish the dish: Return the potatoes to the pan. Season with salt and pepper, and add thyme if desired. Mix everything and cook for another 5-10 minutes until nicely browned.

Notes

Feel free to substitute bacon with mushrooms for a vegetarian version or add other vegetables like carrots or celery.
