Description

A simple yet delicious classic Margherita pizza made with fresh tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella cheese.


Ingrédients

ÉCHELLE
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 2 ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Préparation

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  7. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  8. Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  9. Top with sliced tomatoes, mozzarella, and season with salt and pepper.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden.
  11. Remove from oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves.

Notes

For a crispier crust, preheat your pizza stone in the oven before placing the pizza on it.
