Description
A simple yet delicious classic Margherita pizza made with fresh tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella cheese.
Ingrédients
ÉCHELLE
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 2 ripe tomatoes, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Préparation
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Top with sliced tomatoes, mozzarella, and season with salt and pepper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden.
- Remove from oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
Notes
For a crispier crust, preheat your pizza stone in the oven before placing the pizza on it.
