Ingrédients

- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 ½ cups mashed bananas (about 3 to 4 bananas)
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 banana, sliced (for decoration)
- ¼ cup butter (for caramel sauce)
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
Préparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the mashed bananas until well combined.
- Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
- Incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture alternately with buttermilk, starting and ending with flour.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- In a saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, and cream; bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes while stirring.
- Serve the warm cake topped with caramel sauce and sliced banana.
Notes
For a vegan alternative, use coconut milk and coconut sugar for the caramel sauce. You can also add chocolate chips or nuts for extra texture.
