Description

A moist and comforting banana cake topped with rich caramel sauce, perfect for any occasion.


Ingrédients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups mashed bananas (about 3 to 4 bananas)
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 banana, sliced (for decoration)
  • ¼ cup butter (for caramel sauce)
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Préparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the mashed bananas until well combined.
  5. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture alternately with buttermilk, starting and ending with flour.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
  8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. In a saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, and cream; bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes while stirring.
  10. Serve the warm cake topped with caramel sauce and sliced banana.

Notes

For a vegan alternative, use coconut milk and coconut sugar for the caramel sauce. You can also add chocolate chips or nuts for extra texture.
